The Role of a Manager
So you're a manager. Congratulation. But what does this mean and what is your role as a manager in your organisation?
You will have some key resposibilites for the function you are managing - this may be finance, operations, sales or any other function, and these 'job specific' responibilites will be unique to your organisation and how the organisation works.
But there are some key functions and overall resonsibilies of all managers that are more universal.
Essentially you are there to execute. To get things done. And to do so in line with your organisations procedures, policies and working practices.
If you are managing people, your biggest role you have is to get things done through your people. Therefore the better you manage your people, the better you will perform as a manager.…
